The CVAA Board Meeting was held on 6 May 2010.
Exciting events are in the works for the organization for the upcoming months and the rest of the year. The anouncements will be posted in the newsletter under the direction of Helen Martin who was unable to attend the Board Meeting this month due to other important commitments. She was able, however, to direct most of the Board to the location of the meeting.

The meeting is in full swing

Ron is always ready

Listening intently to a new proposal .... and to select a choice of pictures for the Sept paint-off

Mon 26 Apr 2010 Scratch Board Class - Marg Leslie

Marg Leslie promised and exciting and rewarding scratch board class and she delivered it in good order.
As a reminder, scratch board is a reductive technique wherein a white board is coated with india ink. After the ink is dried images are produced by scratching the black surface to allow the white to show through. the white may be colored with ink, dye, or paint... or left white . the scratching may be done with a sewing needle; razor blade; exacto knife; dental tools; tools especially made for scratch board techniques; a nail; your finger nais or whatever you find works best for you.
Marg provided pictures for reference or the students brought their own. As always in these classes everything was provided... the students only needed to show up for an entertaining and lively learning session.

Once the class got started there was dead silence and intense concentration as you can see in the following fotos:

Remarkable finished art work in just a couple hours.

Show N Tell Meeting 26 Feb 2010

The Show n Tell meeting has got to be one of the best meeting in the entire year. The very talented artists of the group bring samples of their work and explain a thing or two about how or why they painted the piece. It is soooooo inspiring and uplifting to see all these great pieces. This is the meeting when everyone comes away with something for sure.
Following you will find a sample of the smiles, joy and intense interest interest of the audiance. Notice the willingness of the artists to share what they have and what they have done. If there is one meeting out of the year we should invite a guest this is it.
